US Bombing of Iraqi Hospitals on Easter Sunday: "a Sacrilege"

"I am reporting from Fallugah," cried a KPFA correspondent. "American troops have just bombed a hospital! Bodies of women and children litter the streets! This is a massacre." Welcome to George Bush's Easter celebration.

As a Christian, I am overwhelmed with complete and abject shame for the demonic satanic spawn of Hell in Washington who could actually command such a horrific butchery of innocents--on this highest of all holy days. Kill women and children? Send our own brave fighting troops to their deaths? On Easter Sunday! Christ is the Prince of Peace. You spit in his face.

America has no business being in Iraq. None. There is no excuse for sending our troops there other than bloodthirsty greed.

Karl von Clausewitz stated that there was honor in war. Clausewitz was WRONG. There is NO honor in war. What honor could there possibly be in this bloody defilement of everything we as Americans and as Christians stand for? How can I go to church and casually watch children hunt Easter eggs when I know that blood-crazed serial killers are slaughtering women and children in Christ's name? When I know that these demonic killers are endangering us all, threatening not only our way of life but our very souls.

US troops are busy bombing hospitals and massacring women and children in Iraq ON EASTER SUNDAY. That is sacrilegious. As a practicing Christian, I am sickened and disgusted.

Commentary on Commentary

We appreciate your commentary on Iraq.

It's difficult to believe that this administration was so focused on creating a rationale to invade a sovereign nation, that they believed those with their own motives--i.e. Chalabi--who insisted he knew exactly where those WMD were.

Admiral Zinni has spoken out against our military actions in lengthy interviews.

In 1998, when President Clinton ordered bombing of Iraq, the intelligence indicated the regime was in chaos, on the verge of collapse.

When we watched the Peace Demonstrators on CSPAN, it was impossible to believe their chants of "No War for Oil." Were they right?

Tragically, it appears they were.

The war mongers of this administration are still in office.

They debate which country we should invade next.

Iraq totters on the verge of civil war.

We've destabilized the Middle East.

Thank you for speaking out.

Back to the Bible on Marriage
  1. Marriage shall consist of a union between one man and one or more women. (Gen 29:17-28; II Sam 3:2-5)
  2. Marriage shall not impede a man's right to take concubines in addition to his wife or wives. (II Sam 5:13; I Kings 11:3; II Chron 11:21)
  3. A marriage shall be considered valid only if the wife is a virgin. If the wife is not a virgin, she shall be executed. (Deut 22:13-21)
  4. Marriage of a believer and a non-believer shall be forbidden. (Gen 24:3; Num 25:1-9; Ezra 9:12; Neh 10:30)
  5. Since marriage is for life, no government or law shall be able to permit divorce. (Deut 22:19; Mark 10:9)
  6. If a married man dies without children, his brother shall marry the widow. If he refuses to marry his brother's widow or deliberately does not give her children, he shall pay a fine of one shoe and be otherwise punished in a manner to be determined by law. (Gen. 38:6-10; Deut 25:5-10)
  7. In lieu of marriage, if there are no acceptable men in your town, it is required that you get your dad drunk and have sex with him (even if he had previously offered you up as a sex toy to men young and old), tag-teaming with any sisters you may have. Of course, this rule applies only if you are female. (Gen 19:31-36)

Boycotting Exxon By Chain Letter

I hear we are going to hit close to $3.00 a gallon by the summer. Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action. Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT,whoever thoughtof this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join with us. By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $1.97 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50- $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace....not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas!

We can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers.

It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point: keep reading how easy it is to reach millions of people.

I am sending this note to about thirty people.

If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! (Be sure to erase all the previous emails and send it as BCC recipient.)

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you? Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT BUYING GAS AT EXXON AND MOBIL.

Defending Condi

Regarding Yolanda Rebecca White's commentary, "Condoleeza: Brown Rice As Bleached As White": This of philosophical trash is exactly why Blacks (as a group) in America have and will be socially and econmoically handicapped! There is no reason for failure. Everybody must overcome obstacles in life. The obstacles that many people have are often self-inflicted and are removed through "hard work and education." Try using this as a buzzword and live by it. It works!!!!!! Condy Rice has. She is THE model for it.

Nick Kalodimos
Defending Condi, Part Two

In my research on Ms. Rice, I found an extensive amount of information on the internet about her. She is her own person and it saddens me to believe people continue to battle the race issue. My family was treated unfairly in the past, and, yes, the KKK even burned my grandfather's business. But to continue dwelling on "prejudice" only allows those who want to to keep non-Anglo's down at the bottom. Instead of everyone crying "poor little me," how about folks do exactly what she did. Get an education and make something of yourself.

Thank you.

And Yet ANOTHER Reply to the "Open Letter from a Canadian"

Hey knucklehead--

Why are you so mad?

You rambling rants sound unusually bitter--Is there something you are not telling us?

I'm guessing you probably got your ass kicked in front of your family--or your boyfriend--one winter while vacationing in Florida by a local named Bubba. Am I close?

Here's the real reason you got a chip on your shoulder.

Every day you wake up, look in the mirror and realize you are NOT an American...THAT pisses you off... then the realization sets in that you never will be an American.

OUCH! Sucks to be you!

Here's the kicker--You and your country are obsessed with the U.S., and the fact that most Americans don't give a rat's ass about Canada really burns you.

One more thing. If a foreigner mistakes you for an American, you get mad because you know he no longer finds you interesting enough to talk to after you tell him you are Canadian.

Next time you feel the need to tell the world what a slob your neighbor is--take a good look in your own backyard first, Fred Sampson.

Fix that first. You will have a lot more credibility.

One thing is for sure: Although you rant & rave about what a horror show you think the U.S. is, you WILL be back in the U.S. sooner or later.

You know you just can't stay away...THAT pisses you off too!

Sincerely,
Francis X. Lawless

Smear vs. Truth

I can't help noticing how the Bush White House tries to smear every one of its critics who have resigned their post and then reveals some ugly truth about how Bush and Cheney are running our government. The latest man of integrity to be smeared as "disgruntled" is Richard Clark, former anti-terrorism advisor to four presidents. He joins the ranks of Paul O'Neil, former Secretary of the Treasury; Joseph Wilson, former U.S. Ambassador; David Kaye, former CIA weapons inspector; Scott Ritter, former U.N. weapons inspector; Hans Blix, recent U.N. weapons inspector. The smear-jockeys even went after that Medicare cost analyst who found that the Bush proposal to Congress was under-estimated by $ 140 billion.

How many people with integrity need to resign from their jobs before Bush's supporters realize that their trust has been abused? Are there any people of integrity still in the Bush administration?

Yours truly,

"They LIE!"

WHATEVER John Kerry meant in his over-heard comment, it's a no-brainer to me that he's as right on all counts about the LYING as Dean was when he stated that we are NO SAFER now that Saddam has been captured. (What a tizzy the Republican Media went into over that one!) Does George Bush really think he's the only one who can play "GOTCHA?"

So, Good! Let Bush and the Republican Machine proove they aren't lying! Especially the "Attack Dogs," which doesn't leave out many (except the voting hoards who are still being duped or mesmerized or both...) There's a veritable laundry list of lies for them to explain!

And all the kvetching about negative ads (Even as Bush is launching his own assault)! Surely the Republicans can't just now be waking up to the Anti-Bush sentiment in this country. Well, maybe Bush himself is, since they always censure [sic] the crowds everywhere he goes, so that he encounters only grinning, barking and clapping seals who swallow his lies like so many herrings tossed at them! All the record-massive protests he has engendered everywhere he goes are neatly kept blocks away in "Free Speech Zones" (which I can still remember were once all of the USA--look well, ye wolves!), and he always manages to be on vacation, at the ranch, or at a school photo-op when large protests are scheduled in Washington.

For over half of us, his "presidency" has fullfilled our worst fears and then some. The Truth must finally be spoken so the People can decide...and it won't be pretty, no matter how they spin it! Kerry is doing his job and pointing out the obvious: they LIE!

Who Needs SUVs?

Re: "SUVs: Poor milage, Bad Emissions, Lethal Design," by Richard Santos

I agree with the artilce. I'm often told to silence myself on my views of suvs and trucks; i.e., that they have no business on mainstream streets and highways unless a rancher is going into town for feed, the rodeo, etc. or a nature photographer is coming into downtown Austin to capture the wildlife along Austin Tx's Sixth Street on a Mardi Gras weekend. (Please note the one on the nature photographer was meant to be humorous!)

French Ban on Headscarves

The French Assembly is wrong to ban Muslim headscarves in public schools.

France claims to be a secular state. This is not true. The Christian and Jewish Sabbaths are holidays in France, but not the Muslim Sabbath, Friday. The religious holidays--Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Pentecost Friday, Whit-Monday, Assumption Day, and Christmas--are all statutory holidays in France. France subsidises religious schools. Crucifixes still hang in schools in Alsace-Lorraine.

What is next? Will they forcibly shear Sikhs whose hair is "liberated" from the tidy turbans they usually wear? Will they cut off circumcised Muslim or Jewish penises that appear in school showers?

Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by France and the UN in 1948 states:

"Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance."

The ban on wearing religious garb and manifesting one's faith we can expect from savage dictatorships like Saudi Arabia, but not from France, the very cradle of equality, fraternity, and liberty!

I urge the French Senate to abandon this act of intolerance. In the short run, it encourages racism and bigotry. In the long run, this law will segregate Muslims into madrassas where fanatics are hatched, or onto the streets uneducated where they can learn a life of crime.

This is a bad, intolerant law that will only cause trouble and teach intolerance.

France's Senate must reject it.

Bush fails to meet the press in DC, Kerry fails to meet the voters in California

Everyone has something that they are afraid of. Arnold Schwarzenegger is afraid that America won't let him run for president just because it would be unconstitutional. John Ashcroft is afraid of what would happen if his version of Big Governmentstopped interfering with our lives and he was forced to get a REAL job.

My own greatest fear is that the recent Pentagon report is correct and we only have 16 years left before global warming melts the polar ice cap and puts my hometown under a whole bunch of water.

After his dismal appearance on Meet the Press the other day, George Bush's greatest fear appears to be situations wherein he has to think on his feet, such as during the upcoming live Presidential debates. And apparently Bush is not the only one who suffers from Fear of Debating. Presidential debates also appear to be a phobia for John Kerry. Why else would Kerry have given the cold shoulder to millions of California voters during the primaries by canceling a scheduled Los Angeles appearance at the League of Women Voters' debates--in favor of an appearance in Georgia, a state with far fewer chances to score electoral delegates?

As a Californian who has only 16 years left before being inundated by the Pacific Ocean, I would like to see as many Presidential candidates as possible express their views as to how we are to get out of this terrible mess. And I am angry that I have been denied a chance to hear every single Presidential candidate explore every possible suggestion regarding how to get us back on track. Hell, if he has something that would save my little home from the Big Tsunami, I'd even listen to Ralph Nader!

Against Diebold Voting Machines

The new Diebold electronic systems are a bitter joke, and those of us who have been following this, as everyone should, are especially appalled at reports that this company is actually the further trans-mutation of the self-same data-processing group that deprived so many Floridians, incorrectly listed as felons, of their vote in 2000. Not only that, but Diebold's CEO has publicly pledged to "deliver" the election to Bush, much in the same way as Gov. Jeb promised to "deliver" Florida to his brother!

The voting machines are so obviously corruptible that it won't be enough to require a "paper trail," which could also be rigged. What we need is for everyone who votes to get a RECEIPT, just like you get from every other transaction you make. This can then be immediately checked and kept by the voter as proof against any re-count, and will in itself deter ballot tampering, for the crooks to know the evidence is "out there." Simple enough? I've served on our elections in our small town in Maine for years. We use Paper and Pencil ballots, hand-counted by an equal number of Dems and Repubs, and we have NEVER had a problem. There's no way anyone would even dream of tampering with ballots in our system, and I'd heartily recommend it to the Banana Republic of Florida!
