TREACHERY AND DECEIT AT THE MOBTOWN THEATER:

Ben Jonson's "Volpone" Opens April 16

Brian Irons stars as Volpone, a con man who pretends to be a wealthy invalid in an effort to ingratiate himself with the leaders of Venetian society and gain acess to their money, their favors, and even their women. His unknowing victims jockey for position, each hoping to become Volpone's heir. Carlos Del Valle plays Mosca, Volpone's conniving servant and a man who will work any angle to help his master. The fast-paced farce builds in intensity until the final courtroom scene where everyone gets his comeuppance.

Noel Schively, last seen in Mobtown's production of "The Misanthrope," directs, and the ensemble cast includes Todd Krickler, John Sadowsky, Brandie Rocci and Chris Carver, who returns to the Baltimore stage after a lengthy absence.
