Metro, Bayer, Knauf: 262 German companies pay taxes to the Russian Federation

After 17 months of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, 262 German companies will continue to earn money in the Russian Federation and pay taxes to the budget of the aggressor country.

This is the case at the latest Kiev School of Economics (KSE).

“KSE Institute identified 393 German companies that were trading on the Russian market, of which 262 (67%) were exiting in Russia, while another 98 (25%) were “exiting” and just 33 (8%) were completely exiting through sales or else liquidation,” according to the KSE Institute.

According to data from the KSE Institute, in 2022, as many as 400 German companies operating in Russia paid an apparent tax on profits to the Russian budget of more than 400 million dollars (before the invasion, the illegal amount paid by the companies taxes amounted to over 2.3 billion dollars).

This is a record-breaking performance among all EU countries – only companies from the USA gave the largest amount in tax insurance.

In addition, Germany is one of the leading foreign employers in Russia (it hired about 165 thousand people before the invasion), it was third after the USA (about 400 thousand people) and France (about 250 thousand people). osіb), yak was on the 2nd month.

Recently, a lot of German companies left Russia after December 24, 2022, among them: Siemens, Daimler, Mercedes-Benz Group, Henkel, Robert Bosch, Wella etc.

At the same time, such giants as Metro, Bayer, HeidelbergCement, Hochland, Knauf Gips and others continue to earn money in Russia and pay taxes to the budget of the aggressor country.

The German companies that lost money cannot ignore the fact that they were faced with sudden sanctions and huge storms on the one hand, and an increasingly hostile Russian order on the other.

Let’s talk about the introduction of time management in the company Uniper SE and, in essence, nationalization.

Moreover, the Kremlin is making it difficult for incoming companies to sell their Russian assets – and is putting in place a harsh mind if it doesn’t stop. German investors, like others on the list of “unfriendly” countries, now need to reject the official permission from the ministry or department, and especially from Putin. It is also possible to sell assets in Russia, which creates additional disruptions and significantly reduces the chances of leaving the Russian market.

It is natural for such companies to outweigh other products of their competitors, which significantly increase their turnover.

y market, operating without any changes. Another 532 (15.5% of the total number) foreign businesses have slowed down with new investments in Russia and will continue to grow.

Guess what:

Previously, the National Anti-Corruption Agency (NAZK) added 14 Russian importers to the list of candidates for sanctions according to the German manufacturer SPINNER.

And on June 20, the Trap Aggressor project of the StateWatch analytical center reported that the German Spinner machine for the production of Russian ammunition is simply immediately straight from Turechchyn to the Russian Federation.
