SpaceX has allocated $2 billion to the xAI company as part of a broader $5 billion investment round. The move further strengthens the ties between Elon Musk’s enterprises as his artificial intelligence startup intensifies its rivalry with OpenAI, reports the Baltimore Chronicle with reference to the Wall Street Journal.

The funding followed the merger of xAI with the X platform, leading to a combined company valuation of $113 billion. xAI’s chatbot, Grok, is now providing support services for the Starlink satellite system and is also being considered for future integration into Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus.

Despite recent controversies surrounding Grok’s responses, Musk has described it as “the smartest AI in the world.” xAI continues to invest heavily in model training and infrastructure development.
