Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy and IBRD signed a $88M loan deal to support SMEs through affordable loans, grants, and industrial park development programs.

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development have signed a loan agreement worth $88 million under the program “Sustainable, Inclusive and Environmentally Balanced Entrepreneurship” to support small and medium-sized enterprises, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to the Ministry of Economy.

According to the Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev, the signing of this additional loan agreement will channel funds into key areas of business support. These include affordable loans under the “5-7-9” program, grants for processing enterprises, compensation programs for the purchase of agricultural machinery, as well as the development of industrial parks.

The financing is structured as a Program for Results (PforR), meaning that funds will be disbursed only upon achieving specific, pre-agreed results with the World Bank.
