Trump launches TrumpRx website offering discounted prescription drugs, including fertility and weight-loss medications, for cash-paying U.S. consumers.

President Donald Trump on Thursday unveiled the TrumpRx website at the White House, a new platform aimed at providing lower-cost prescription drugs for consumers paying out of pocket, повідомляє Baltimore Chronicle with reference to TrumpRx.gov. The launch event included Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz and National Design Studio Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia. The initiative lists 40 commonly used medications at reduced prices, with more drugs planned for future inclusion.

During the event, Trump emphasized that the website represents one of the administration’s “most transformative health care initiatives” and highlighted the use of Most Favored Nation policies, designed to ensure the United States does not pay more than other countries for prescription medications. He stated, “Starting tonight, dozens of the most commonly used prescription drugs will be available at dramatic discounts for all consumers through a new website called TrumpRx.gov.” Some of the discounted prices were previously announced in 2025, while others have just gone into effect.

According to the TrumpRx website, discounted medications can be obtained at participating retail and home delivery pharmacies using coupon codes provided on the site or directly through manufacturer websites. The platform specifies that the discounted pricing is only available for cash-paying patients and does not apply to insurance payments or count toward insurance deductibles. Only a limited selection of drugs is currently listed, although the website notes that “many more drugs are coming soon.”

Experts have noted the convenience of the platform while highlighting limitations. Benjamin Jolley, PharmD, senior fellow for health care at the American Economic Liberties Project, described the website as a useful aggregation of available drug coupons. Dr. Christina Madison, founder of The Public Health Pharmacist, compared TrumpRx to existing programs like GoodRx, emphasizing that users no longer need to navigate multiple manufacturer websites to access discounts. GoodRx confirmed it serves as a key integration partner, hosting self-pay prices for TrumpRx, which are accessible at over 70,000 pharmacies nationwide.

While Trump described the savings as “tremendous,” analysts caution that the benefits may be limited. Rena Conti, associate professor at Boston University Questrom School of Business, observed that fewer than 50 drugs are currently included on the site, meaning the discounts may only assist a subset of patients. Some prices remain high even with reductions, such as Xeljanz, which starts at $1,518 despite a 50% discount.

High-demand medications, including GLP-1 weight-loss treatments, were highlighted. TrumpRx lists the Wegovy pill at $149 per month, down from $1,349, and Ozempic prices have been gradually reduced from $1,000+ to $199 following prior federal negotiations. Fertility medications represent another major category. Gonal-F is available at $168 per pen (83% discount), Cetrotide at a 93% discount, and Ovidrel at a 67% reduction. Dr. Oz underscored the potential impact, noting that reduced fertility drug costs could make treatments more accessible for families. Jolley added that these discounts could lower the overall cost of an IVF cycle by roughly 20%, addressing a major expense not typically covered by insurance.
