Oil prices increase slightly on Tuesday, December 26, amid low trading activity after Christmas.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by enkorr.

February Brent futures rose in price on the London ICE Futures exchange by $0.22 (0.28%) to $79.29 per barrel.

February futures for WTI rose in price on the New York Mercantile Exchange NYMEX by $0.23 (0.31%) to $73.79 per barrel.

On Monday, major trading on ICE and NYMEX was not held due to the holiday.

Over the past week, Brent rose in price by 3.3%, WTI – by 2.5%, amid problems with transporting energy resources through the Red Sea. Tanker traffic in the region has dropped sharply due to Yemen's Houthi attacks on shipping vessels, and traders continue to closely monitor the situation.

Danish transport and logistics company AP. Moeller-Maersk AS said yesterday that it plans to resume shipping through the Red Sea after implementing an international mission to provide security for ships and prevent attacks by Yemen's Houthis.
