The Cabinet of Ministers has changed the validity period of the certificate of approval of vehicles for the carriage of certain dangerous goods.
The government portal reported this, Ukrinform reports.
“The extension of validity of certificates for the transportation of dangerous goods during martial law has been cancelled,” the message says.
It is noted that in order to transport fuel and explosive substances, organizations must have the appropriate permits, in particular, certificates of approval of vehicles for the transport of certain dangerous goods. These documents are issued at service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and are valid for 1 year.
The government reported that during 2023 alone, service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued and extended more than 40,800 certificates for the transportation of dangerous goods.
“Previously, if the validity of a certificate for the transportation of dangerous goods expired during martial law, it was automatically extended. This document could be used on the territory of Ukraine during martial law and for 90 days after its lifting,” the Cabinet of Ministers said.
They explained that the introduction of such regulatory changes was necessary to establish cargo transportation for critical infrastructure and support for military personnel.
But the government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs adopted a number of documents, and therefore the extension of validity of certificates for the transportation of dangerous goods during martial law was cancelled.
As reported, the government adopted a resolution that provides for the reduction of special training and internship for drivers of civil protection vehicles from six to one month in order to allow them to drive vehicles equipped with special sound and light signals or intended for the transport of dangerous goods.
