Ukrnafta discovered an illegal tap into a gas pipeline in the Ivano-Frankivsk region

Photo In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, an unauthorized withdrawal of gas from the gas pipeline of the oil and gas production department “Nadvornayaneftegaz” was discovered.

As Ukrinform reports, the press service of Ukrnafta reported this.

“The security service of PJSC Ukrnafta discovered that unidentified persons in one of the villages of the Nadvornyansky district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, for the purpose of unauthorized selection of gas supplied to the owners of individual households, made an unauthorized tap into the gas pipeline of the NGDU Nadvornayaneftegaz,” the message says.

It is noted that operating and inactive gas pipelines were connected for the purpose of illegally taking gas for their own domestic needs.

According to experts' calculations, the consumption of petroleum gas, which could have been unauthorizedly taken, is 3859 cubic meters per day. Taking into account the price of gas for the population (7.96 UAH per 1 cubic meter), gas worth 30.7 thousand UAH was unauthorizedly withdrawn every day.

Ukrnafta informed law enforcement officers about the identified violation. Measures are being taken to identify the perpetrators.

As reported, on September 30, an oil pipeline ruptured in the Nadvirnyansky district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region near the village of Strymba.
