In Ukraine, the share of non-performing loans in the banking sector as of December 1, 2023 was 37% compared to 37.7% as of November 1.

As Ukrinform reports, the NBU press service reported this in Telegram.

“The share of non-performing loans (NPL) in the banking sector as of December 1, 2023 amounted to 37%, which is 0.7 percentage points lower than the figure as of November 1. The volume of non-performing loans for the month decreased by UAH 2.1 billion, and The volume of loans provided by banks increased by UAH 16.4 billion,” the report says.

The National Bank notes that the preliminary results of assessing the stability of the National Bank indicate an adequate assessment of credit risk by the majority of banks.

Before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the share of non-performing loans (NPL) in Ukrainian banks began to decline since 2018 (from 55% to 27% as of March 1, 2022), and the volume of loans in banks was growing.

As reported, in January-September 2023, the volume of non-performing loans in banks decreased by UAH 9.6 billion. and as of October 1 amounted to UAH 422.5 billion.
