“Own business”: more than 10 thousand Ukrainians received ₴2.4 billion for business

More than 10 thousand Ukrainians have become winners of the “Own Business” grant program since its inception and received UAH 2.4 billion from the state to start or develop a business.

As Ukrinform reports, this was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.

The government transferred UAH 91.2 million to 378 winners of the “Own Business” grant program. In particular, 354 winners received microgrants in the amount of UAH 82 million to open or develop their own businesses, and for the veteran component, 24 winners received UAH 9.2 million.

“The latest winners of the Own Business grant program received more than UAH 90 million. from the state to open a business or expand an existing one. The most popular among Ukrainians are microgrants up to 250 thousand UAH. At the same time, veterans, veteran women, and the second spouse can receive a significantly larger grant for business development – up to UAH 1 million. To date, more than 10 thousand Ukrainians have taken advantage of the opportunity to take a grant and received funds in their accounts and are implementing their entrepreneurial ideas,” noted Deputy Minister of Economy Tatyana Berezhnaya.

In total, since the beginning of the “Own Business” program, more than 10 thousand Ukrainians have already received UAH 2.4 billion in grants for their business. The winners can spend the funds on purchasing or leasing equipment, purchasing raw materials and supplies, and renting premises. Both an existing entrepreneur and a person without experience in such activities can receive a microgrant. A mandatory condition for the provision of funds is the creation of 1-2 jobs, depending on the amount of the grant.

As reported, under the “Own Business” grant program, Ukrainians can receive a microgrant from 50 to 250 thousand UAH. Funds can be spent on purchasing or leasing equipment, purchasing raw materials and materials, renting premises. Both an existing entrepreneur and a person without experience in such activities can receive a microgrant. A mandatory condition for the provision of funds is the creation of 1-2 jobs, depending on the amount of the grant.
