Gas tariffs may increase: what to expect for Ukrainians

Currently, the gas tariff is 7.96 UAH per cubic meter.

In Ukraine today there is a moratorium on < strong>increase in tariffsfor gas, hot water and heating.

The head of the Union of Utility Services Consumers Oleg Popenko spoke about this on Ranok.LIVE.< /strong>

He emphasized thatuntil the end of the heating season, tariffs in Ukraine will not increase. However, already in April-May the current gas tariff may be revised.

“As far as I know, as far as there is insider information… last year, the same NJSC Naftogaz considered the issue of increasing the tariff for gas. Again, I do not claim that this will be accepted 100%, but I know that the issue of raising, on average, by about 1-1.5 UAH is being studied,” Popenko said.

As of today, the gas tariff is 7.96 UAH per cubic meter. If the tariff is raised as the head of the Union of Utility Consumers claims, it will be 9-9.5 UAH.

“If the cost of gas increases, it will automatically raise tariffs for heat supply and hot water,”< /em> – noted Popenko.

Recall that the average cost of gas in Ukraine has been declining for the fourth month in a row.
