In May, the European Union plans to provide Ukraine with 1.9 billion euros of assistance

The money will be transferred within the framework of the macro-financial assistance program of 50 billion euros Ukraine Facility.

The next tranche of assistance to Ukraine from the European Union could amount to 1.9 billion euros and will be provided in May.

This was stated by Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis, informs the EP strong>.

He said that the first tranche in the amount of 1.5 billion euros within the framework of the agreed macro-financial assistance program for 50 billion euros Ukraine Facility was transferred in March.

Dombrovskis also recalled that Ukraine has a reform plan, the phased implementation of which will be a condition for receiving the next tranches. These reforms are necessary to bring Ukraine closer to EU standards, which will facilitate the country's European integration.

“As for the next steps: The European Commission is assessing the Ukrainian reform plan in order to determine quarterly indicators for the implementation of reforms and investments to unlock subsequent payments. We will soon finalize this work and will transfer the assessment to the EU Council. When agreement is reached, this will pave the way for the payment of preliminary funding to Ukraine in the amount of 1.9 billion euros, most likely in May,” Dombrovskis said.

We recall earlier. it was reported that the EU could close the “financial hole” for Ukraine instead of the US.
