 Audit in The Ministry of Defense identified violations amounting to more than 10 billion hryvnia

The Ministry of Defense conducted a number of inspections and discovered violations.

After personnel changes in The Ministry of Defensein particular, when Alexey Reznikov left his post, the new team approved an audit plan for risky areas. During the inspections, violations, ineffective management decisions and risks in the management of assets totaling more than UAH 10 billion were identified.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yuriy Dzhigir told Ukrinform about this.

“Until the end of last year, the Internal Audit Service conducted audits of such processes as the accrual and payment of additional remuneration for the direct participation of military personnel in hostilities, the purchase of food for military personnel, the functional management of state-owned enterprises, the organization of financial and logistical support for units of the Troops Forces, as well as the use resources in the field of activities of the Commands of the Ground, Naval and Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Yuriy Dzhigir.

The Deputy Minister added that the audit work is aimed at preventing violations.

“It is important that a certain reimbursement of funds and elimination of the vast majority of these violations was organized directly during internal audits. Thanks to the implementation of audit recommendations, an economic effect totaling more than UAH 1.5 billion was achieved,” concluded Yuriy Dzhigir.
