According to the NBU, over seven banking days the hryvnia has strengthened by more than 1%.
The National Bank of Ukraine set the official dollar exchange rate at UAH 41.02 on July 31. That is, since July 22 the hryvnia has increased in price by 1.1%. This is reported by “Unian”.
The Center for Economic Strategy named the restructuring of external debt and the extension of foreign exchange interventions by the NBU as the main factors in the strengthening of the Ukrainian currency.
The publication notes that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the NBU strengthened the hryvnia for seven days in a row only once – in October last year. Then the national currency rate rose by 0.8%.
However, Capital Times predicts an increase in the dollar exchange rate during the current and next year. It is expected that by the end of 2024, the dollar will grow to 42.5 UAH, and by the end of 2025, its value will exceed 45.2 UAH.
According to analysts, the Ukrainian economy is gradually slowing down amid a reduction in financial assistance from the West and increased mobilization.
Recall that according to the forecast of the head of the treasury department of Globus Bank Taras Lesnyi, on August 1, the dollar exchange rate will be 40.8-41 UAH.
