Мonobank has been under DDOS attack for the third day: special services want to join in

A cyberattack of this scale is not typical.

The Мonobank system has been under a large-scale hacker attack for the third day in a row. Today, the bank received 5.5 billion requests.

This was reported by the co-founder of Monobank, Oleg Gorokhovsky.

He noted that AWS (Amazon Web Services) employees have already been involved in repelling the hacker attack, and assistance from specialists from the Ukrainian special services has been offered.

“For them (AWS, – ed.), a cyberattack of this scale is also atypical. The situation is under control, but the scale is amazing,” Gorokhovsky wrote.

Recall that Monobank reported a massive DDOS attack on its servers on the evening of August 16. The co-founder of the bank assumes that this is the work of Russian special services, who want to break the bank due to its active participation in training camps for the Ukrainian military.

The day before, Oleg Gorokhovsky said that the bank received about “a billion requests for services in 3 hours,” but assured that the situation was under control. He noted that Monobank specialists were fighting off the attack while “drinking coffee and donuts.”
