The Ukrainian energy system has managed to overcome the capacity deficit.
Ukraine plans to resume exporting electricity to neighboring countries from August 25. Consumption is decreasing due to the decline in heat.
This was reported by energy expert Gennady Ryabtsev.
Gennady Ryabtsev explained that there are two methods of working with excess electricity.
First – the transmission system operator can limit generation by giving the command to the solar power plant to reduce energy production.
Second – the resulting surplus can be exported within the intraday market. This will allow our producers to receive additional funds that can be used to prepare for the heating season.
“This phenomenon does not mean that someone will sign long-term or even short-term agreements on the supply of electricity to the detriment of the unified energy system or when restrictions on energy consumption are announced,” the energy expert said.
Recall that the situation in the energy system of Ukraine improved in July after the connection of power units at the nuclear power plant. This will reduce the electricity deficit.
On July 30, Ukrenergo assured that if there is no shelling, then in the next 3 months, power outages will be minimal or they will be cancelled altogether.
However, from August 19, the power outage schedules were partially restored due to the heat.
