Autogas prices will creep up.
As a result of increasing excise tax on fuel in Ukraine, no increase in gasoline and diesel fuel prices is expected. At the same time, prices for liquefied gas are a separate story.
This opinion was expressed by the director of the A-95 Consulting Group, Sergey Kuyun, on air at “Kiev24”
“We do not expect any increase in gasoline/diesel prices. We can say that we are lucky with this, because against the background of the increase in excise tax, world prices for oil and oil products fell, and accordingly the purchase price decreased, and this compensates for the increase in tax. Therefore, we will go through this period calmly,” Kuyun assured.
He added that traders currently have normal earnings, so they have no need to “wake up trouble” by raising prices for gasoline and diesel fuel. At the same time, the situation with autogas is somewhat different.
“Liquefied gas is a separate story, because the excise tax on it was raised much more. If the tax on gasoline/diesel increased by 1.2-2 hryvnia, then on liquefied gas it increased by more than 5 hryvnia per liter. It is already difficult to cover this with the purchase price. Moreover, the pricing for liquefied gas is separate, it differs from gasoline-diesel. But the market has brought in quite a lot of this fuel: they were preparing for the excise tax. I think that these reserves will somewhat restrain the price for 2-3 weeks. It will grow, I predict that by about 1 hryvnia per week,” the expert said.
By the way, according to the NBU forecasts, the growth of fuel prices in Ukraine will accelerate in late 2024 – early 2025.
