Ukrainians may be banned from buying cars due to utility debts

The main goal of this initiative is to encourage people to pay off their debts on time.

In Ukraine they want to introduce a ban on registering cars for citizens who have debts on utility bills.

This is stated in bill No. 9363, which the Verkhovna Rada may consider and adopt in the near future.

In particular, the bill assumes that when registering cars in the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a check will be carried out through the Unified Register debtors. If the registry contains debts for utility payments, the registration of the vehicle will be rejected.

It is worth noting that this measure does not prohibit the purchase of cars by proxy, but citizens with debts will not be able to register them in their own name.

The document emphasizes that the restrictions introduced will not be discriminatory, and their implementation will be carried out in accordance with the principle of equal rights and opportunities for all citizens.

Earlier it was reported that in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation debts for utilities have increased by a third. The largest number of defaulters are in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions.
