Russian invaders have sent grain prices up by striking a grain carrier in the Black Sea.
Grain prices have risen sharply worldwide after Russian invaders launched a missile attack on a grain carrier in the Black Sea.
Bloomberg reports this.
“Wheat futures jump by 2.2% after Ukraine said Russia had hit a ship carrying grain with a missile,” the report says.
The publication reports that Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures rose to $5.9175 per bushel, the highest since July 2024.
The rise came on the eve of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's monthly supply and demand report, which is due out later.
Recall that it was previously reported that Russia is exporting Ukrainian grain from the occupied territories to Iran.
In addition, we previously reported that the invaders want to increase the scale of grain exports from Ukraine.
