The minister said that there is no opportunity to raise social standards yet.
Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said that the minimum wage in Ukraine will not be increased in 2025.
The head of the Finance Ministry said this at a briefing.
Marchenko recalled that in 2024 the minimum wage was increased to 8000 UAH, but in 2025 its size will remain unchanged.
The minister explained that there is no opportunity to raise social standards in the country yet. This was agreed upon with international partners.
“This year we raised the minimum wage by 19% – to 8,000 hryvnia. We believe it is possible to maintain this amount for the entire year next year,” the head of the Ministry of Finance said.
Recall that, as economic expert Oleh Pendzin stated, a decision was made in Ukraine to “freeze” the subsistence minimum and minimum wage for the next three years. This is evidenced by the government's budget declaration for the next three years.
