Ukrainians will have to pay even more for electricity: MP named the date of the increase

The tariff for the population may be reviewed in the spring.

“Ukrenergo” is preparing to increase the tariff for the transmission of electricity for 2025, according to which it may actually increase by one and a half times to 783.71 UAH/MWh.

This was stated on the air of the TV channel “Novosti.Live” by the MP, first deputy head of the committee on energy and housing and communal services of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Alexey Kucherenko.

In his opinion, Ukrenergo will need 30 billion hryvnias for these needs, and to get them, they will most likely have to raise the electricity tariff for ordinary consumers.

The tariff has been raised over the past three months, and in a year this will lead to additional income of 1 billion dollars, which, according to Kucherenko, Ukrainians are already paying. In addition, a possible increase in tariffs from Ukrenergo will cost another 30 billion hryvnia.

According to the MP, tariffs for the population may be revised in the spring.

“Until spring, no one will revise this tariff for the population, as I understand it. After spring, this balalaika will start playing again and they will start talking about the market price of electricity, the need for an increase, etc. This is inevitable,” Kucherenko added.

Earlier it was reported that in Ukraine, from October 1, the price of electricity for one category of consumers will increase. Read more about this in the news.
