Age supplement to pension

In October 2024, payments will increase for those pensioners who turn 70, 75 and 80 years old during the month. The main condition is that a person's pension should not be higher than UAH 10,340.35.

The age supplement is paid in the following amounts:

Identification of pensioners in October

Pensioners who received IDP status before February 24, 2022 and who have not undergone physical identification before March 31, 2024, can undergo verification in October in any convenient way to extend payments.

Assignment of a subsidy

Ukrainians who do not have the means to pay for utilities in full can apply for a subsidy.

The process of calculating subsidies for the heating season begins in Ukraine on October 1. The subsidy for October will be calculated taking into account the start of the heating season in most cities of Ukraine.

The calculation will be made in 15 days, regardless of the exact date of the start of the heating season in a particular locality. That is, the payment for October will be made in November, so in October the amount of the subsidy for those who have already received it will remain unchanged.

Due to the increase in utility tariffs, the Pension Fund will recalculate subsidies. This will be done taking into account the start of the heating season and the increase in utility costs.

Help for VPO: who will be able to receive it for another 6 months

For internally displaced persons who received continuation of payments based on the March changes (except for pregnant women who received continuation of payments based on a medical certificate of pregnancy and childbirth), the benefit is extended automatically without additional application.

However, within a month from the date of extension of the payment of assistance, the social protection agency will check the recipients of assistance for compliance with the criteria specified in paragraphs 7 and 7-1 (property criteria) and 13-1 – 13-4 of the Procedure (criteria for extension of payments). In case of non-compliance with the specified criteria or requirements, the payment of the benefit is terminated from the month following the month of automatic extension of the benefit payment.

What is the amount of assistance to IDPs in the fall of 2024

You can receive money on the 15th and 28th of each month

Who will pay for electricity at a preferential rate from October 1

From June 1, 2024, the electricity tariff for the population increased from 2.64 UAH/kWh to 4.32 UAH/kWh. The new tariff will be valid until the end of April 2025.

That is, in October we will pay 4.32 UAH/kWh for electricity.

At the same time, from October 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025, that is, during the heating season, consumers using electric heating units will pay a preferential tariff for electricity in the amount of 2.64 UAH/kW when consuming up to 2000 kWh of electricity per month.

The “night” tariff for electricity (with the corresponding two-zone meter installed) will be 2.16 UAH/kW by October.

By installing a two-zone meter that takes into account consumption during the day and night, you can save significantly on electricity. Consumers who have such a meter installed will pay only half the standard tariff for electricity between 23:00 and 07:00.

Minimum unemployment benefit

The minimum unemployment benefit is expected to increase from the beginning of October. As reported by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Tax and Customs Policy Nina Yuzhanina, the amount of payments will be 3 thousand UAH.

The increase in the minimum benefit will only apply to people with at least seven months of insurance experience over the past 12 months, as well as registered migrants.

For people without insurance experience, the amount of unemployment benefits will remain at the level of 1.5 thousand UAH.
