How to Save Electricity at Home: Effective Methods

How to save electricity at home: effective methods

With regular reduction in consumption, you can save up to 15% of electricity per month.

Electricity consumption in Ukraine has increased sharply in recent years. At the same time, the cost of the resource has also increased – by as much as 600%. Therefore, the issue of saving electricity in Ukraine does not lose its relevance.

How to reduce electricity consumption – we will tell you further.

Reducing consumption and optimizing the operation of electrical appliances

To do this, you will have to systematically follow simple rules for saving electricity:

Re-equipping the room

For starters, you can replace all bulbs with LED ones.

A 10W LED lamp generates as much light as a regular 100W incandescent lamp, but it consumes 90% less electricity. In addition, the service life of an LED lamp is about 15 years, while an incandescent lamp lasts about 4 months.

House insulation. Up to 50% of all heat can be lost through cracks in windows. To do this, you can replace old frames with modern metal-plastic ones; insulate the balcony and front door; install penofol or foil display screens on the radiators.

Modern household appliances. New household appliances have an energy efficiency classification and can save up to 50% on electricity costs.

Update your meters. Installing high-precision electricity metering devices will help to significantly reduce electricity consumption.

View tariff

Since January 6, 2021, No. 15, the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission has canceled a number of preferential tariffs for electricity in Ukraine. However, the ” night tariff” remains relevant.

In particular, the day is divided into two tariff zones: daytime – from 7.00 to 23.00, and night – from 23.00 to 7.00. Night tariff is 50% lower than day tariff, and day tariff is the standard price for electricity at the moment.

To switch to the night tariff, the subscriber must submit a corresponding application to the supplier and install a two-tariff meter, which will be able to count kilowatts separately at night and during the day.

Note that next year electricity for the population next year will not become more expensive.
