Internet in Ukraine may become more expensive in 2025: what's the matter

Providers have already raised the cost of their tariff packages due to tax increases.

Internet may become more expensive in 2025 for certain groups of users in Ukraine.

Internet Association Board Member Alexander Arutyunyan spoke about this in an interview with LIGA.net.

As Arutyunyan explained, the cost of Internet services in Ukraine may increase because providers that worked under the simplified taxation system were transferred to the general system.

Thus, providers will have to pay more taxes and hire specialists to keep accounts.

“Since the abolition of the simplified system did occur (in our opinion, illegally), accordingly providers have raised the cost of their tariff packages. And this is only the first step. A provider cannot raise tariffs by the entire amount of its expenses. The second step will be at the beginning of next year, then for some subscribers the Internet will become more expensive again,” said a member of the board of the Internet Association.

Recall that on October 10, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on increasing taxes, which has already been called historic. Thus, for some citizens, the military tax will increase from 1.5 to 5%. What and how much each Ukrainian and business will now pay for, read on TSN.ua.
