Popular vegetable in Ukraine has risen in price by 26%: what is the current price

Such a jump in prices occurred due to the cold weather and the early end of the greenhouse season for growing produce by farmers.

Over the past week, prices for vegetable crops have begun to rise significantly. In particular, the cost of cucumbers has increased from 65 to 80 UAH per 1 kg.

This is what EastFruit analysts write.

According to them, an additional factor for the rise in price was a decrease in the number of imported cucumbers. Due to the lack of competition with other countries and high demand among Ukrainian consumers, prices continue to rise amid a growing shortage of this product.

“On average, since the beginning of the current week, prices for these products have increased by 26% and today these vegetables are on sale in the range of 65-80 UAH/kg, depending on the quality and volume of the offered batches of products,” the analysts' report says.

As of October 17, according to analysts in the vegetable and fruit market, greenhouse cucumbers have already risen in price by 14% compared to October last year.

Earlier it became known that prices for vegetables and dairy products, as well as eggs and chicken meat, may increase by 10-15% during the autumn-winter period.
