Zelensky's thousand: economist assessed the consequences of the decision for the economy

According to Vasyl Furman, such measures will have a positive effect on the Ukrainian economy.

President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed to introduce a new assistance program from December 1, according to which every citizen of Ukraine will be able to receive 1 thousand hryvnia, but the money can only be spent on Ukrainian goods and services.

Economist, member of the NBU council Vasyl Furman assessed the consequences of such a decision for the Ukrainian economy, reports “24 Channel”.

“I believe that the funds that are spent in our country to support the Ukrainian manufacturer, always with a plus sign. During the Great War, a number of different programs were introduced that definitely added their multiplier effect to economic growth and GDP growth,” says Vasily Furman.

In his opinion, such measures will have a positive effect on the Ukrainian economy.

“Personally, I support such events and advocate for more programs that can expand support for Ukrainian manufacturers, who really need it during the war,” he summed up.

Recall that on October 25, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a new program “Support” – one thousand hryvnia per person from December 1.

People's Deputy Olha Vasilevska-Smaglyuk told where the money for the payments would come from.
