Prices Break Records: One of the Salad Vegetables Has Become More Expensive in Ukraine

Prices are breaking records: one of the salad vegetables has become more expensive in Ukraine

Cucumbers have increased in price.

The price of greenhouse cucumbers has increased in Ukraine. One of the reasons was the reduction in the supply of imported products on the domestic market.

This was reported by analysts of the EastFruit project.

As of November 22, wholesale lots of greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine were sold at 90-120 UAH/kg ($2.19-2.92/kg), depending on the variety, quality and volume of the offered lot of products. in this market segment was within 70-100 UAH/kg ($1.7-2.43/kg).

Market operators noted that the supply of imported vegetables has now decreased and cannot fully cover all requests from buyers, which does not contribute to the stabilization of the price situation in this segment.

Analysts noted that Ukrainian factories ship cucumbers at an average of 33% more expensive than for the same period in 2023.

Market participants are confident that price growth in this segment may continue in the near future. Only new large-scale deliveries of imported greenhouse vegetables to the domestic market can change the current situation.

Earlier it became known that the Ukrainian sugar market is seeing a rise in prices, the pace of which may accelerate in early 2025.
