The money will be received on St. Nicholas Day.
Orphans and children deprived of parental care who are raised in guardian families will receive an additional one-time thousand hryvnia for each child.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
The corresponding initiative will be implemented as part of the “Winter Support”. The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to UNICEF, which provides financial resources for this program.
He also added that Ukraine continues to reform the child care and support system. For this purpose, the Strategy for Ensuring the Right of Every Child to Grow Up in a Family Environment and an Action Plan for its implementation were adopted at the meeting.
“The main goals of the Strategy are comprehensive support for biological families so that children do not end up in care institutions. This is inclusive education, quality medicine, effective social services, community support, etc.,” the statement says.
The strategy is designed until 2028, and its implementation is already beginning. Responsible ministries and departments will be involved in this.
We remind you that from January 1, 2025, a monthly “teacher's allowance” in the amount of 1,000 hryvnia will be introduced in Ukraine.
