Zelensky signed the law on the state budget for 2025: Shmyhal reported details

The budget deficit for next year is more than UAH 1.5 trillion.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law on the state budget for next year.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

The prime minister noted that the priority of the country's budget is protection from Russian aggression, that is, financing the defense needs of Ukraine.

“The priority of the budget is to protect against Russian aggression, that is, to finance … the protection of our state remains. Financing of security and defense forces, purchase and production of weapons, drones and equipment. We allocate UAH 2.23 trillion for this,” Shmyhal wrote.

Among other important expenses:

In total, the country's main budget for next year plans to spend UAH 3.6 trillion, and to generate only UAH 2.05 trillion in revenues. That is, the state budget deficit is UAH 1.55 trillion.

“The government clearly understands that we will pass the next financial year confidently. There is coordination between the branches of power and strong support from our partners,” the Prime Minister summed up.

Recall that the military budget alone next year will be twice as much as the amount the country lived on before the war – UAH 2.22 trillion, 56% of all expenses in 2025.
