Parliament told whether the price of electricity in Ukraine will increase

Ukraine will be able to reduce the deficit in the energy system.

So far, Ukraine does not plan to increase the cost of electricity. For now, it is very important that the winter is with minimal power outages.

This was stated by the people's deputy from the “Servant of the People” Serhiy Nagornyak on the air of “Kyiv 24”.

“It (the price – Ed.) will definitely not increase for consumers. When the government raised the price to 4.32 kopecks, this money is enough for energy companies to work without losing money,” Nagornyak explained.

According to him, state-owned companies Energoatom and Ukrhydroenergo, which provide such a price for consumers, may earn a little less and will suffer certain losses. But they will earn on their own generation, and will partially lose on imported generation.

“But we will have electricity in our homes. We may have interruptions if Russia attacks our energy facilities, transmission systems or generation. But we will reduce the deficit in our energy system,” the deputy says.

Recall that earlier Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal announced who will not have their electricity turned off. This concerns importing businesses or those producing 60% of their consumption volume on their own.
