Many Ukrainians are concerned about what will happen to subsidies after the New Year and whether the rules for their provision will change.
Since December 1, the subsidy in Ukraine is assigned until the end of the heating season, that is, until April 30, and this rule will remain in place in 2025. The calculation is made from the month of filing the documents.
The pension fund reported this.
In January, the following may apply for a subsidy:
- persons registered in the dwelling;
- tenants under a current lease agreement (the subsidy is assigned by the date specified in the agreement, if it falls on the period before the end of the heating season);
- internally displaced persons (IDPs), confirming residence with a certificate;
- individual developers.
The maximum amount of one-time expenses that may prevent receiving a subsidy has also been increased. Now this amount is 100 thousand hryvnia. If the expenses were for a generator or similar equipment, the maximum amount is 150 thousand hryvnia.
From January 1, 2025, when submitting documents, family income for the second and third quarters of 2024 will be taken into account, and pension income for November 2024. The subsidy may be canceled if the applicant does not notify of changes in property or social status.
If power outages continue and intensify in January, the subsidy amount will remain unchanged, since it is calculated according to social consumption standards and a decrease in the amount of electricity used will not affect the assistance.
Recall that the government approved a pilot project under which IDPs in nine regions of Ukraine will be able to receive a subsidy for housing rental.
