Ukrainians will pay more for gas: what will change from the New Year

The new period will be taken into account when recalculating.

From January 1, Ukrainians will be paid for gas delivery. The tariff itself will not change, but the amounts in the bills will differ.

This is stated in the material “Oboz.ua”.

The fee for gas distribution is directed to the maintenance and upkeep of gas networks. The work of emergency dispatch services is also ensured, and salaries are paid to specialists who ensure the stable daily operation of gas pipelines.

The upcoming recalculation will take into account the new period corresponding to the 2023/2024 gas year. If natural gas consumption has increased, the cost of delivery for such users will increase from the beginning of the new year.

“In Ukraine, they pay for the delivery of the volume of gas that was consumed during the previous gas year: from October 1 to September 30. Now Ukrainians pay based on the volume that they used from October 2022 to September 2023. And in 2025, they will pay depending on the volume of consumption from October 2023 to September 2024,” the report says.

The cost of natural gas delivery depends on the region. The longer the gas network and the fewer consumers, the higher the tariffs. In densely populated cities, tariffs are usually lower.

Recall that in just a few months, tariffs for utilities in Ukraine may increase significantly. In particular, for heating and water supply.
