In the first six months of 2025, Ukrainians may see a 10-20% increase in the price of food and services.
Against the backdrop of an increase in gas transportation tariff, Ukrainians will face another price hike. In particular, already in the first half of the year, food prices may increase by 20%.
This opinion was expressed by the head of the Union of Consumers of Public Utilities Oleg Popenko in a commentary to UNIAN.
“Due to the increase in the cost of gas transportation, the price of this fuel for industry and business will automatically increase. And prices in Ukraine may actually increase for everything. An increase in prices is possible for all goods and services – from food to rent, because the cost of gas indirectly affects the cost of electricity, since the largest consumers of gas transportation services are energy companies and regional gas companies,” Popenko explained.
He added that already in the first months of 2025, Ukrainian consumers may see an increase in prices in supermarkets by 10-20%.
Recall that the economist predicts that food prices in Ukraine will rise even more in the near future. It is the actions at the front that determine the dollar exchange rate and the stability of the hryvnia.
