The government has expanded the list of citizens entitled to benefits for paying for housing and communal services.
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the list of citizens who will be granted benefits for paying for housing and communal services in Ukraine starting in 2025.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine reported this with reference to Resolution No. 1553.
According to the document adopted by the government on December 31, 2024, Ukraine has become more citizens who will receive benefits for housing and communal services payments based on the average monthly family income.
Who will be granted benefits for payment of housing and communal services, purchase of solid fuel
Taking into account the average monthly total income of the family, the following categories of citizens will have the right to benefits:
- rehabilitated persons who became disabled as a result of repression or pensioners;
- persons affected by the Chernobyl disaster, classified in categories 1 and 2;
- wives (husbands), guardians of children of deceased citizens whose death is related to the Chernobyl disaster;
- wives (husbands), if he (she) has not married a second time, deceased citizens whose death is related to participation in the liquidation of other nuclear accidents, in nuclear tests, in military exercises with the use of nuclear weapons, in the preparation of nuclear charges and the implementation of routine maintenance on them;
- those discharged from military service who became disabled during military service;
- parents and family members of military personnel who died (passed away) or went missing during military service.
The size of benefits for payment of housing and communal services
The Pension Fund also noted that benefits will be provided if the average monthly total family income per person for the previous six months does not exceed the amount of income that gives the right to a tax social benefit (4240 UAH).
The changes apply to individuals who apply for benefits from January 1, 2025.
Those who were assigned benefits earlier will receive them until the end of the 2024-2025 heating season, that is, until April 30, 2025 inclusive.
We remind you that subsidies will also be calculated in a new way in Ukraine. In particular, the changes affected state aid related to cashless payments for Ukrainian-made goods within the framework of the “Made in Ukraine” initiative.
