Bread in Ukraine will become more expensive in 2025: how much will you have to pay for the product

Flour remains a key, but not the only factor influencing the formation of the cost of bread.

Prices for bread in Ukraine are growing due to rising fuel prices, instability in energy resources, and rising raw material prices.

Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council Denys Marchuk announced this in a commentary to UNIAN.

According to him, the war affected the prices, because the lack of personnel required investment in equipment to replace people, and this led to both producers and processors incurring additional costs, the cost of loans, rising electricity prices and power outages.

“An equally important, but not the key factor influencing the cost of products is the price of raw materials. For example, the price of flour is not the main factor in determining the cost of bread. The cost of this raw material is no more than 30% of the final price of the product. In 2025, monthly bread prices may grow by 1.5-2%, and over the year as a whole, they may rise in price by more than 20%,” the expert explained.

Earlier it was reported that actual consumer inflation in December 2024 exceeded the forecast of the National Bank of Ukraine, and prices will continue to rise in the coming months.

At the same time, the NBU expects inflation to return to a steady decline trajectory in the second half of 2025.

According to the State Statistics Service, consumer inflation in Ukraine increased by 12.0% at the end of 2024, including 1.4% inflation in December.
