Popular vegetable has rapidly fallen in price at the markets

Onion prices are lower than in the past.

Onion prices have begun to decline at Ukrainian markets and stores. One of the reasons for the rapid decline in price was the decline in the quality of these vegetables in storage facilities.

This is reported by analysts from the EastFruit project.

So far, onions are sold at 9-15 hryvnia per kilogram. The cost depends on the quality and volume of batches of products offered. This is, on average, 10% cheaper than at the end of last working week. In supermarkets, a kilogram of onions costs an average of 15 hryvnia.

In addition, producers who decided to temporarily stop sales in the first half of the season opened storage facilities, and the supply of onions increased sharply. In turn, this led to a drop in selling prices.

It is noted that now onions in Ukraine are already 10% cheaper on average than in the same period last year.

As reported, the price of carrots in Ukraine continues to rise. This trend has been going on for several weeks now. A kilogram of vegetables costs 25-32 UAH.
