If the official salary was average, the work experience should be even more, and for those who paid minimum contributions, it will be difficult to achieve this level of pension.
In 2025, the pension system will continue to operate on the principle of individual accrual of pension payments, which depends on two main factors: the size of the salary and the insurance period.
What should be the length of service to ensure a pension of 10 thousand hryvnia, 24 Channel tells.
If the official salary was average, the length of service should be even more, and for those who paid the minimum contributions, it will be difficult to achieve such a pension level.
The pension calculation formula covers the following components :
Salary: the higher the official salary from which contributions were paid, the higher the salary coefficient.
Insurance experience: the number of years during which a person worked officially and paid the unified social contribution (USC) is taken into account.
Average salary in the country: the average salary for the three years preceding the year of retirement is used.
The formula looks like this: pension = SZP×IKZ×KS, where:
SZP is the average salary in Ukraine;
IKZ– individual wage coefficient;
KS – insurance experience coefficient (1 year of experience = 1%).
If your official salary was closer to the average level in Ukraine, the insurance experience should be higher. For example, with a salary equal to the average (coefficient 1), for a pension of 10,000 hryvnia, the experience should be about 66 years, which is physically impossible.
The ability to buy additional experience
Ukrainian legislation allows you to purchase additional insurance experience that is not enough to retire. However, this process involves significant financial costs. The cost of one month of experience is 44% of the minimum wage, and in 2025 the minimum wage is 8,000 UAH.
For example, 1 year of experience will cost you 42,240 UAH.
To summarize, to receive a pension of 10,000 UAH in 2025, you need to have: a high official salary (1.5-2 times more than the average) and an insurance experience of at least 33-35 years.
We remind you that Ukrainian pensioners who have an insurance experience exceeding the required minimum can count on additional payments. In 2025, these rules remain in force and are regulated by relevant regulations.
