Monthly bills for gas delivery come regardless of actual fuel consumption. This payment covers the costs of gas distribution network operators to maintain infrastructure and repair it.
Ukrainians are required to pay for the delivery of natural gas even if they do not use it. In case of non-payment, gas companies have the right to go to court to collect the debt.
This is discussed in the material Oboz.ua.
Monthly gas delivery bills are received regardless of actual fuel consumption. This payment covers the costs of gas distribution network operators for infrastructure maintenance and repair.
How are delivery amounts calculated?
The cost of gas delivery depends on the region and is calculated based on consumption for the previous gas year (October 2023 – September 2024). The volume of gas consumed is divided by 12 months and multiplied by the local operator's tariff. For example:
• In Kyiv, delivery will cost UAH 31.99 per 1 cubic meter.
• In Lutsk – UAH 156.9 for the same volume.
If there is no gas consumption, but the subscriber is connected to the network, the payment is still charged:
• 39 cubic meters per year – for cooking;
• 126 cubic meters per year – for heating water and cooking;
• 314 cubic meters per year – for heating.
What to do if there is a debt?
If the consumer does not pay for delivery, regional gas companies can file a lawsuit. There are known cases when Ukrainians who went abroad as refugees received court decisions to collect debts for several years.
To avoid such situations, you should contact the regional gas company with a statement about disconnection from gas supply. To do this, you need to:
1. Submit an application to stop gas supplies and terminate the contract.
2. Provide evidence of disconnection, if this was done earlier.
According to Naftogaz, gas distribution network operators are responsible for accounting and calculating payments, so it is to them that you should contact to resolve issues.
We remind you that from February 1, 2025, the tariff for electricity for Ukrainians will remain unchanged. Household consumers will still pay UAH 4.32 for each kilowatt-hour used.
