 Cabinet of Ministers launches creation of postal bank in Ukraine

Thanks to this bank, it will be possible to receive assistance, social benefits, order goods and medicines within walking distance.

On January 28, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, by its decision, transferred the shares of the First Investment Bank, previously owned by Russian oligarchs, to the Ministry of Infrastructure with subsequent transfer to Ukrposhta.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

“Today, by its decision, the government transferred the shares of the First Investment Bank, previously owned by Russian oligarchs, to Ministry of Infrastructure with subsequent transfer to Ukrposhta, – said in a statement by Shmyhal.

He noted that in this way a postal bank is being created. Ukrainians will be able to receive assistance, social benefits, orders for goods and medicines within walking distance.

The head of government added that thanks to this decision, the state will also save up to UAH 5 billion over the next three to four years. The funds will be used to finance priority budget items.

By the way, Ukrainian banks will introduce restrictions on money transfers between individuals from February 1: a monthly limit of UAH 150,000 will be set for payments using IBAN details.
