Ukrainians are expecting higher prices: product groups that will become more expensive have been named

And this increase in excise taxes on fuel has not yet fully affected the market.

By the new harvest season, vegetables in Ukraine will become at least 15% more expensive. Dairy products are also under threat.

Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council Denys Marchuk said this in a comment to UNIAN.

If in 2024 the reasons for the price hikes on food products were a combination of seasonality, economic factors and the consequences of the war, then in the new season there was also an increase in excise taxes.

“In fact, by the new season, our vegetable group will definitely continue to grow by another 15%,” Marchuk said.

He noted that the situation on the dairy market is also difficult due to tax innovations, in particular the increase in excise taxes on fuel. And although export restrictions to Europe have temporarily reduced the purchase prices of milk, the final cost for consumers is unlikely to change.

“The increase in excise taxes on fuel and lubricants that began in September has not yet fully affected the market. Traders still had stocks at the old price, but starting in January, fuel prices will affect the cost of production and transportation costs,” Marchuk explained.

Recall that in addition to food, ticket prices will also increase. In particular, as of February 1, Ukrzaliznytsia reduced discounts on international trains to Poland and Hungary, so passengers will see a significant increase in ticket prices. The cost of tickets to Poland and Hungary will increase, but prices for flights to Austria and Moldova will remain unchanged.
