Sellers of premium onions have decided to temporarily suspend sales. They plan to return to the market no earlier than March, expecting prices to stabilize or rise.
Onion prices in Ukraine continue to fall.
According to EastFruit, negative price trends caused by increased supply have intensified on the market this week.
If last week farmers refrained from selling in the hope of rising prices, now they are forced to sell their stocks due to the gradual deterioration in product quality.
A sharp increase in onion volumes on the market has led to another price reduction. Today, the cost of the vegetable fluctuates between 8-14 UAH/kg ($0.19-0.34/kg), depending on the quality and volume of the batches. This is approximately 12% less than at the end of last week.
Sellers of premium onions have decided to temporarily suspend sales. They plan to return to the market no earlier than March, expecting prices to stabilize or rise.
It should be noted that onions in Ukraine have fallen in price by 20% compared to early February 2024.
Recall that coffee may reach its highest price since 1980 due to crop failure in the main producing regions and a decrease in offers at auctions.
