The new rules are aimed at strengthening control and ensuring assistance to those displaced persons who really need it.
Some Ukrainians will lose assistance under the “Asylum” program from March 1, 2025.
This was reported by the NGO “VPO of Ukraine”.
Payments will be terminated in the following cases:
- if the displaced person is abroad for more than 30 days continuously;
- if false information is discovered during the data verification;
- if the displaced person purchased or received free housing within three months prior to filing the application;
- if the Pension Fund of Ukraine has received information that the person has not lived at the specified address for more than 30 days.
Currently, the amount of compensation is 450 hryvnia per person per month. However, from March, payments will be assigned for six months with the possibility of automatic extension for another six months – after checking for compliance with the conditions for receiving compensation.
Recall that in February, residents of the Donetsk region can apply for several types of financial support. The assistance is intended primarily for those who suffered due to military action.
