Ukraine Launches e-Hemp System – Who Will Be Able to Grow

In Ukraine, the cultivation of industrial hemp has been simplified for business.

On March 10, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food launched the electronic system eKonopli.

This was reported by the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Vitaly Koval.

According to him, legal entities engaged in the cultivation and processing of industrial hemp will be able to work in a convenient digital system.

“The new eKonoplya service will contribute to the development of this industry, because the use of industrial hemp is extremely wide – from light and food industries to pulp and paper. Hemp is a high-margin niche crop that has wide processing potential,” says Vitaly Koval.

In addition, the activities of legal entities are significantly simplified. Previously, obtaining a license for the production of industrial hemp took up to 3 months. Now, according to the order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, to grow hemp for industrial purposes, it is enough to register in the Register of Legal Entities Carrying Out Activities on Sowing, Growing and Processing Hemp for Industrial Purposes and there is no need to obtain licenses and quotas.

Earlier it was reported that the first pharmacy with cannabis-based medicines was registered in Ukraine.
