An inspection of Ukrainian petrol stations revealed only a few networks with problems with underfilling.
In Ukraine, new excise taxes have raised suspicions that gas stations will start cheating to keep fuel prices constant. The Institute of Consumer Expertise conducted a secret inspection to find out whether there are any real cases of underfilling.
Autotema writes about this.
As part of a large-scale inspection, specialists thoroughly checked all gas stations in Ukraine, including well-known networks WOG, OKKO, UPG, as well as local brands such as SVOI (Kyiv), SLON (Odessa), SVR (Kharkov). Discounters such as AVANTAGE 7 and CHIPO were also checked.
The results of a large-scale inspection of Ukrainian gas stations revealed interesting facts about the quality of customer service. It turned out that only two networks had cases of underfilling. At the same time, at many gas stations, customers received more fuel than they paid for. For example, at WOG gas stations, overfilling was recorded at a level of 0.75%, which allows drivers to save 44 kopecks on each liter of fuel.
The overfill was recorded at PARALLEL, KLO and AVANTAGE 7 petrol stations, where the difference in fuel volume was 30, 29 and 26 kopecks per litre, respectively. While at OKKO the overfill was 0.25%, or 15 kopecks per litre. At UPG and SLON petrol stations the overfill was 14 and 12 kopecks per litre. According to experts, such an overfill can be useful for drivers, but it is important that some networks also showed the exact volume of fuel without any additional costs or savings, such as at CHIPO, SVR, MARSHALL, BVS, VST and FAKTOR petrol stations, where each customer received exactly the amount of fuel they paid for.
During the inspection of gas stations in Ukraine, it turned out that problems with underfilling exist only at some stations, in particular at SVOI and BRSM-NEFT. Customers at SVOI lose 54 kopecks on each liter of fuel, and at BRSM-NEFT – as much as 64 kopecks. However, at most other gas stations, the inspection showed that customers receive the exact amount of fuel, which confirms the high level of competition in the market. As noted by the Director of the Institute Yuriy Chornobryvets, such results indicate an improvement in the quality of service and refute the myth of underfilling at all gas stations.
