Ukraine is losing a reliable partner for the EU in the transit of energy resources - Galushchenko

Ukraine's transit of energy resources is in compliance with EU norms and regulations and, with clear adherence, is subject to association.

Minister of Energy German Galushchenko stated this under the hour of the trilateral alliance “Ukraine – EU – Ugorshchina”, which was agreed upon in Brussels, transmitting Ukrinform with messages to the Ministry of Energy.

During the meeting, with the participation of the European Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Dan Jorgensen, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Ugorshchina, Peter Szjárto, they discussed energy security and energy transit.

Galushchenko noted that in supplying the transit of energy resources, Ukraine complies with the norms and rules of the European Union and, with clear adherence, was able to please the association.

He said that Ukraine is losing a reliable partner for the EU in the face of Russian energy terror, which is worrying.

The Minister informed about the current situation in the energy system after recent attacks on the energy and gas infrastructure of Ukraine. Galushchenko noted that the country continues its ongoing work and is working to minimize the impact of these attacks in order to ensure an uninterrupted supply of energy for residents.

The official of the Ministry of Energy also stressed the importance of further cooperation with partners within European initiatives, such as RePower, and confirmed Ukraine’s readiness to resolve its demands.

Participants in the conference emphasized the importance of continuing constructive bilateral cooperation to ensure energy security in the region. Zokrem, we talked about the import and export of electricity, the supply of oil and gas.

As reported by Ukrinform, the European measure of electricity transmission system operators ENTSO-E from 1st February 2024 increased the maximum permissible capacity of Ukraine for the export of electricity by 150 MW – up to 550 MW.
