Individuals with disabilities can receive compensation for work accommodations

Individuals-employees and self-employed persons with disabilities can withdraw government compensation for the accommodation of their work places; We will also compensate for the provision of care for veterans with disabilities who have returned to work.

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine reports this, Ukrinform reports.

“We have expanded access to the program and now we can waive compensation for the possession of our work place with special furniture, devices, additional installations, for example, a staircase or a ramp, people with disabilities will be able to both self-employed and self-employed individuals, and people who plan to open their business,” said First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko.

In addition, the program has been expanded to include the transition of veterans with disabilities to the front line of work. Previously, workers could deduct compensation only with new training, and if a wounded veteran returned to his job, payments were not given.

Obviously, the amount of compensation should be increased to 120 thousand. UAH for people with disabilities Group I up to 80 thousand. UAH for people with group II disability.

You can submit an application for compensation either online through the “Diya” portal or by going to the employment center. After submitting all the necessary documents, the review of the application takes up to 10 working days, and the funds must arrive at the applicant’s mailbox within 5 days after receipt.

As it was reported, at the beginning of 2025, robot sellers were already deducting 34 million UAH in compensation for the provision of 448 work places for people with disabilities. In 2024, over 1,500 entrepreneurs benefited from the program, which benefited approximately 2,000 workers, receiving compensation for a total amount of UAH 129 million.
