Sugar prices in Ukraine have gone up: how much will it cost in the summer

A combination of factors, including active exports and seasonal fluctuations, creates the preconditions for further growth in the cost of sugar in Ukraine.

Ukraine is seeing a gradual rise in sugar prices, and this trend is likely to continue in the coming months. Average factory prices fluctuate within the range of 24.60–25.30 UAH/kg, but analysts expect further price increases.

According to the agricultural cooperative PUSK, the key factors behind the price increases are high domestic demand and the opening of the EU market.

Ukrainian producers are actively using the opportunity to export to Europe, while continuing to supply other countries such as Türkiye, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Indonesia and Israel.

Demand for Ukrainian sugar remains not only in traditional markets, but has increased after the opening of the European Union. Many factories are buying up quotas for the European market, which increases price growth.

In addition, the cost is affected by the seasonal trend: prices usually rise from the beginning of the year until mid-summer.

“Seasonally, we see an increase in quotations from January to June-July. Given the current market factors, conditional prices may reach the level of 27-28 UAH/kg with VAT,” analysts predict.

Thus, a combination of factors, including active exports and seasonal fluctuations, creates the preconditions for further growth in the cost of sugar in Ukraine.

Let us recall that over the past week, a trend of rising prices for greenhouse cucumbers has been established in Ukraine .
