The European Union, on a systemic level, views the integration of the European defense industry with the defense industry of Ukraine, the combined potential of which opens up clearly new capabilities for the security sector. Ukraine will save valuable defense potential of the EU.
The European Commissioner for Defense and Space, Andrius Kubilius, said this in Germany at the hour of the presentation of the “White Book” ahead of the upcoming European defense, reports an Ukrinform correspondent.
“The new projects that we are currently pursuing in the European Parliament are very important. Among them is the European Defense Industry Programme. It’s about the development of European defense capabilities, and there is also a wider division in it regarding the integration of the Ukrainian defense industry with the European one. This is really cool for both sides. We can give Ukraine encouragement with our industrial capabilities and mass production. Ukrainians can teach us what current war means. Several European companies have already begun to enter Ukraine, and we believe that this process will continue at a good pace,” said Kubilius.
We have determined that such integration will help Ukraine to increase and modernize its defense industry and market its products.
“Ukraine is showing us what we can do with our defense industry. Let me remind you that in 2022, the Ukrainian defense industry will be able to increase its defense wealth by about 1 billion euros per river. The last river ended with a production rate of 35 billion euros,” said a representative of the European Commission.
At the same time, I respect that Ukraine is still not fully exploiting its capabilities. Not all of them are victorious in order to satisfy the needs of Ukraine itself, but Ukrainian industrial enterprises are being rejected from defense contracts. In this context, the “Danish model” can bring great benefits if European assistance is directed directly to Ukrainian enterprises to produce armor for the Ukrainian army.
“This is an effective butt, which can be inherited by the edges of the members. This is a very effective way to support Ukraine. Ukrainians are particularly aware of the current trends in Europe, and even more so when it comes to current trends, drones and electronic devices. With this in mind, it is much cheaper to produce this crop than in Europe, and for the same sum we can produce twice as many products in Ukraine. “Together, we will add our support for Ukraine, as we will champion the “Danish model,” said Kubilius.
We note that despite the important geopolitical situation, there is a sense of optimism about the future of European security, concern that Ukraine will be able to make its own contribution in the future.
As it was reported, under the hour of the Special European Council on March 6, the leaders of the EU countries identified strategic directions for strengthening European defense, increasing the capabilities of the defense industry, and the need for a significant increase in defense spending both on the EU level and on the national level. The heads of powers and orders of the EU also confirmed the unfailing support of Ukraine.
