Gasoline has become cheaper at gas stations in Ukraine: what will happen to fuel prices

Gasoline prices have begun to decline.

In the spring, the cost of gasoline at Ukrainian gas stations decreased. As of March 25, the average price for a liter of A-95 gasoline was UAH 55.7, diesel fuel – UAH 54.3, and autogas – UAH 36.35.

Why fuel prices are falling and what to expect next, fuel market expert, director of the consulting company “A-95” Sergey Kuyun told “Focus” in a commentary.

According to him, fuel prices began to fall following oil. Its cost jumped from $75 to $82 per barrel since the beginning of 2025, and then fell to $70 per barrel. The expert explains that the system of oil formation for oil products has several factors. Yes, if at the beginning of the year, when excise taxes increased, there was an increase in prices, then with the decline in oil prices, the situation stabilized.

“If these 70 dollars (per barrel of oil – Ed.) are maintained in the future, in a couple of weeks we will see another minus 1-1.5 UAH per liter. It is interesting that despite the increase in excise tax over the past six months by 3-4 UAH per liter, the prices for gasoline and diesel have hardly changed,” he said. for several weeks. However, in general, the situation will depend on world oil prices, as well as fluctuations in the hryvnia exchange rate.

Let us recall that banker Taras Lesovoy estimated what the dollar exchange rate will be this week. Thus, according to him, the cost of one dollar will not exceed 42 hryvnias.
